Jalapeno Peppers May Be Source of Foodborne Salmonella Breakouts, Could Cause More Injuries

Jalapeno peppers and jalapeno pepper products may be the source of suspected salmonella outbreaks in US consumers. Previously thought to be tomatoes, it appears that jalapeno peppers from Mexico may carry salmonella bacteria. This recent update shows that US food products may be unsafe and could cause personal injuries from foodborne illness; there are no reports as of today for any products liability lawsuits involving tainted jalapeno peppers.
