Family Sues City, Cop After Killing

The family of Aaron Moss, who died after being shot by a police officer has now filed suit against that cop and the city of Danville, Illinois. Rose Moss, who is from Chicago, Illinois, alleged that the officer acted maliciously, willfully, and wantonly when he shot Aaron Moss, and seeks damages in excess of $1 million for counts including wrongful death and excessive force. At the time of the shooting, Moss was running from police by foot, after officers were called because of an argument which Moss was involved in. A sheriff’s investigation into the incident absolved the officer after determining that Moss had been carrying a stolen gun with a live round in it while being chased.
