Attorney Weiss obtained insurance from Liberty Mutual for her and her husband Jack’s business. This included uninsured motorist coverage for both of them when they utilized company cars. Jack was then killed in an automobile accident with an uninsured motorist. Although the two had insurance for the exact situation, Liberty Mutual denied coverage. Weiss sued and after a many appeals, was finally awarded 8 million dollars in damages for insurance agent negligence, failure to obtain appropriate insurance coverage, lack of coverage for auto/pedestrian collision and wrongful death of an attorney.
