Walmart snakebite victim ponders lawsuit

A man who was bitten by a rattlesnake in a Walmart store has recently been released from the hospital. Now, the personal injury victim is weighing whether to file a personal injury lawsuit against the Walmart company. He was sent home with pain medications and instructions on how to care for his snakebite wound.

Family of woman mauled by chimp files personal injury lawsuit against animal’s owner

The family of the woman who received extreme personal injuries after being mauled by a chimpanzee has filed a personal injury lawsuit seeking $50 million in damages against the primate’s owner. The animal injury lawsuit alleges that the owner was negligent and reckless for lacking the ability to control a wild animal with violent propensities. The attorneys for the personal injury victim state that the victim remains in critical condition.

Dangerous Dog Crackdown in Illinois

The wrongful death of a 4-year-old mauled by at least one Rottweiler owned by his foster family my lead to a crackdown on how the state regulates the care of foster children in home with animals. A state representative is considering tough legislation outlawing dangerous dogs in foster homes. The boy died in his foster family’s Chicago home after he let himself out of the house and was attacked by one or both of the Rottweilers owned by the family. The dangerous dogs were kept outside. Bat with rabies found in Chicago

Chicago health officials are reminding all Chicagoans to avoid any contact with bats. One of the flying mammals in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago tested positive for rabies this week. The bat was discovered by a housecat that woke up a man and woman in the home. The couple trapped the bucket and are being treated with a series of vaccinations spread out over 28 days.

The owner of the escaped tiger has agreed to pay $935,000 to two drivers who received serious personal injuries when the tiger slipped out his cage. The two injured plaintiffs will split the personal injury lawsuit settlement. They both claimed to have suffered devastating back injuries in the chain-reaction car crash.

2 Sisters Personally Injured by Dog

Sisters, ages 5 and 10-years-old, have been hospitalized with personal injuries after being mauled by a Rottweiler in Illinois. The 5-year-old sister suffered the most serious personal injuries and may require extensive reconstructive surgery on her face and other parts of her head. The 10-year-old sister is in stable condition with personal injuries from the dog attack. Woman recovering after face transplant

The first person in the United States is now recovering after a facial transplant. Prior to the surgery, the personal injuries were ghastly. She had no nose, no palate, and no way to eat or breathe. Other candidates were considered and dozens of desperate burn injury victims were considered. This candidate was selected because her face was so badly injured.

The world’s first partial face transplant was performed in France in 2005 on a woman who had received personal injuries in a dog bite attack. Apart from some rejection issues, she has done well.

Pit Bull Attacks Six Year Old

A Chicago Boy was hospitalized after undergoing plastic surgery after a neighbor’s dogs attacked the 6-year old. The boy doesn’t play with the dogs, yet they see him every day. The incident began when the boy was retrieving a ball that had gone across a fence in the neighbor’s yard. The boy had gained access to the yard because the fence had been partially knocked down after a recent storm. Officers were flagged to the scene and they tried to lift the boy over the fence, “but the dogs were relentless in their grip of the young victim.” The officer used pepper spray and ended up killing two of the dogs. The boy was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago with serious personal injuries. The doctors performed plastic surgery on both of his legs, which had been mauled from his thighs to his feet and had one gash so deep it exposed muscle tissue. The owner of the dog was surprised that the dogs mauled the boy and caused such great personal injuries. At this time, no lawsuits have been filed. To read the full story, click here.

Woman Attacked By Pit Bulls in Chicago Suburb

A 19-year-old woman in the North Chicago suburb of Waukegan was attacked by three pit bulls. The pit bulls caused her great personal injuries by ripping part of her ear of and chewing up her arms and legs. The pit bulls attacked the woman causing the personal injuries as she walked to a gas station. She is currently hospitalized with personal injuries. The Waukegan, Illinois police said that the owner has not been charged as of yet and are waiting to interview witnesses. 4 Year Old Girl Critically Injured by Pitt Bull

A four-year-old girl is currently listed in critical condition at Children’s Memorial Hospital after being mauled by a pit bull on Chicago's Northwest Side. The girl was playing with the pit bull in the backyard of an apartment building when she sustained the personal injuries. The pit bull suddenly attacked the girl and bit her several times. The reason for the pit bull’s attack is unknown. The girl lives in the same building as the pit bull, but the girl’s parents are not the owners. Animal Control was called to the scene and the owner is pending citation. This story is one of many pit bull attacks in the Chicago land area, unfortunately this one affecting a young child. Chicago Businessman Sued for Horseback Riding Injury at Charity Event

A woman has filed a personal injury lawsuit against local Chicago businessman Richard Duchossois for neck injuries she suffered riding horseback at a charity event. The woman claims that Mr. Duchossois and the owners of the horse were negligent in controlling the horse when it charged and struck the woman violently. The personal injury lawsuit alleges five counts of negligence.

Midwest woman unable to work after pit bull dog bite

While she was walking her own dog down the street, a Midwest woman suffered personal injuries from a pit bull dog bite on the hand. The pit bull was found by two teenage boys who had the pit bull on a leash while trying to find its owner. The pit bull saw the woman and her dog from across the street, managed to break free from the boys’ control, and began attacking the woman’s dog. When the woman tried to pry the dogs apart, the pit bull bit the woman’s hand, causing injuries that have since prevented the woman from working at her factory job. The injuries to the woman’s dog were also severe, including deep fang groove marks and bites to her hind leg, tail, and between her shoulders.

Woman files $1M lawsuit for pitbull attack

While talking a walk last December, a Virgnia woman was attacked by two pitbulls near the home of the dogs' owner. The dog bite injury required reconstructive surgery and a series of rabies shots. For failing to control his dogs, the owner of the two pitbulls has been sentenced to six months in prison. The woman is also filing a personal injury lawsuit, seeking $1,000,000 for her medical bills, pain, and suffering.

Woman sues for dog bite that occured 8 years ago

A Pennsylvania woman who was bitten by a dog when she was 11 years old has recently filed a personal injury suit against the dog's owners. Although the statute of limitations in Pennsylvania normally requires that the suit be filed within two years of the dog bite, the fact that the victim was a minor permits her to file suit within two years of becoming 18 years old. The victim was 19 years old at the time she filed suit.

Million dollar lawsuit filed in dog bite case

A man who was attacked in his own backyard by an Akita has recently filed a personal injury suit. The man was playing catch with his daughter when two dogs entered his yard. Unprovoked, the dog bit the man's hand, creating puncture wounds that required forty stitches and extensive rehabilitation. The dogs were neither fenced in nor put on a leash, which enabled them to roam the six miles from their home to the site of the dog bite.
In addition to recovering for his mental and physical recovery, the man hopes that the personal injury lawsuit will create awareness that owners of potentially dangerous dogs need to be responsible in preventing dog bites.

Personal Injury lawsuit being brought against dog’s former owner

A woman who was mauled by her dog is suing the animal’s former owner. The former owner alleged that he gave valium to the dog to prevent it from becoming ill during the woman’s trip home. However, the current owner claims the valium given to the dog deceived her into thinking the pet was docile and kind. When the medication wore off, the animal attacked her and showed its true nature. The injuries suffered were so severe that the dog owner claimed, “I have an identical twin sister and I don’t look like her anymore.” Animal bites are ever the more dangerous not only because the victim can suffer catastrophic injuries from the actual attack, but they may also contract deadly diseases.
