New automobile mirrors may save thousands of lives

60,000 people per year are injured due to blind spot related accidents. Accordingly, the Automobile Safety Foundation has introduced the “Safe Mirrors Now!” public awareness campaign in conjunction with the release of the new Maxi View Mirror. The new blind spot mirror system could drastically reduce the amount of motor vehicle accidents, which are the leading cause of death among young people in the U.S. today. Use of the Maxi mirror could potentially prevent serious or fatal injuries as the result of motor vehicle accidents.

25% of trucking accidents caused by air brake failure

More than 25% of serious trucking accidents that cause injuries or fatalities are the result of air brake deficiencies, according to a 2006 study by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Trucks, along with buses, tractors, and other heavy-duty vehicles, all use air brakes. Consistent attention and inspection is required to ensure the proper operation and performance of air brakes. Unfortunately, this sort of maintenance is commonly overlooked resulting in deficiencies. Brake deficiency was cited as a cause of 37,000 motor vehicle accidents in 2006, according to the study. Truck drivers and mechanics need to become more educated about and aware of how air brakes operate, how to maintain them, and the dangers they can cause in order to lower this shocking statistic.

Slip and fall accident at Wal-mart; Personal injury lawsuit filed

A woman who slipped in a puddle of vomit is suing Wal-mart for negligence. Due to the slip and fall accident, the woman sustained serious injuries to her neck and upper back, which resulted in multiple surgeries and the inability to work.
